Śauca & Santosha शौच & संतोष We have explored each one of the Niyamas separately. Now it's time for us to start thinking about how they interact with one another. They are not meant to be compartmentalized. Now matter how hard we try to control and anticipate in our lives. We are constantly changing, moving, growing and these constant intentions help to keep us on track when the mind begins to wander. MENTAL FOCUS How a clean space creates contentment to work where you are at. And viceversa... How being content where you are makes it easier to begin to clean the space around you. PHYSICAL POSTURES Utkatasana - Chair Janu Sirsasana - Head to Knee Forward Bend Ardha Chandrasana - Half Moon Pose Dhanurasana - Bow Pose Garudasana - Eagle Pose Bakasana - Crow Pose Malasana - Garland Pose Salamba Sarvangasana - Shoulder Stand Savasana - Corpse Pose

WHAT IS ISVARA PRANIDHANA? Isvara - "Source", "Brahman", "Supreme Being", "Ultimate Reality", "True Self" Pranidhana - "Fixing", "Surrender" Letting go of the ego of the self and connecting into a higher vibration of consciousness and connection with the higher power. MENTAL FOCUS Where am I? I will grow from here to connect to my higher Self. PHYSICAL POSTURES Working differently through the same postures as last week. Just because we do the same pose, doesn't mean we will have the same experience... Sukhasana - Easy Pose Marjaryasana / Bitilasana - Cat / Cow Salabasana - Locust Pose Garudasana - Eagle Pose Malasana - Garland Pose Supta Padangusthanasa - Reclining Hand to Big Toe Pose Halasana - Plow Pose Setu Bandha Sarvangasana - Bridge Pose PERSONAL THOUGHTS When we talk about connection to a higher power. My personal opinion is that it is less important that we all of the same vision of what that higher power is, and it is more important to be able to create an intention completely focused on the benefit of everything in and outside of you. Encompassing everything. You may call it earth... the universe... mother nature... God... gods... however it is that you view what is beyond yourself. What connects us all... The word surrender can also be a tricky thing. We are taught at a young age to work hard and NEVER SURRENDER! In this way, it can be difficult to tell yourself to surrender.... to let go of the thought patterns we've adapted to protect ourselves. So that we do not have to feel discomfort or hurt our egos. As we begin to work through these discomforts, they may come less and less. And so, your motivation can be free of selfish gain and infused with purity of intention. It's all a process. We must be patient with ourselves and with those around us. Just because we start feeling more connected, we still do not need to impose our views on others. Be an example. If they want to join in on the journey great, if not, they are on their own path that is perfect for them. Find YOUR connection. -Wren CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR AMAZING STUDENTS!
